Celebrating Pacific Cycles 40th Anniversary
SOLD OUT
The Birdy P40 is the first world’s fully hydroformed bicycle made by Pacific Cycles.
The unibody main frame is now structurally stronger, stiffer, more rigid and sturdy.
The Birdy P40 has no visible welding joints due to its innovative hydroform technology.
The Birdy P40 comes with the Shimano Tiagra 10-speed derailleur, offering precise and long lasting shifting performance.
The hydroformed bike has a 52T 7075 CNC narrow-wide chainring without the use of double chain guards. This reduces the bike’s weight significantly.
The Birdy P40 uses a high performance architectural grade powder coating made in Italy.
This gives the bike its unique rough matte finish and makes the bike frame corrosion-resistant.

A hydroformed bicycle is technically very challenging to design and build. As a result, Pacific Cycles wanted to commemorate their 40 years of creative bike design and engineering by building a fully hydroformed Birdy bicycle to show its engineering prowess and expertise.
To embark on the building of a fully hydroformed bicycle frame is very costly.
It requires the usage of precise and technical hydroform equipment, a lot of patience and accurate technical calculations.
Therefore, when you buy a Limited Edition P40, you are in fact paying for the limited quantity frames (1000 pieces), a very strong, sturdy and stiff hydroformed frame which forms the core of the P40.
The other key feature is the corrosion-resistant frame that is coated with an Italian-made High-Performance Architectural Grade Powder Coating.
Yes, you can consider placing your preorder in January 2021 when the P40 arrives, subjected to stock availability. We cannot have a demo P40 bike for test rides because all P40 limited edition bikes will be sold.

The next Birdy Gen4 model is only going to be manufactured in 2025. Pacific Cycles does not have any plans for the Birdy Gen4 design yet.

Yes, the P40 uses the same front fork and rear triangle as the Birdy Gen3 models.
The P40 has 10 speeds. It uses the Shimano Tiagra 10-speed groupset.
The P40 uses the Schwalbe Marathon Racer 18″ x 1.5 tyres, which are the same tyres used on the Birdy Rohloff.
Yes, you can use other Birdy 18-inches tyres on the P40. Mighty Velo offers a wide range of 18-inches tyres for Birdy bikes. However, tyre stocks are subjected to availability.

The P40 comes in two special colours, Granite Black and Stucco White.
Both special colours are not available in the current Birdy range.
The P40 High-Performance Architectural Powder Coating is specially made in Italy. It gives the P40 its unique rough matte textured finish, making it corrosion-resistant.
Yes, both the Birdy and P40 logo are decals that do not come off easily.
